Katajanokka
Katajanokka is a neighbourhood of Helsinki, Finland, with around 4000 inhabitants in 2005. The district is located adjacent to the immediate downtown area, though in the first major town plan for Helsinki from the mid-18th century, the area fell outside the fortifications planned to encircle the city. Originally, it was a headland of the Helsinki peninsula but is now technically an island, as a small canal was dug across the base of the headland in the 19th century.
Havis Amanda
Havis Amanda is a nude female statue in Helsinki, Finland. It was sculpted by Ville Vallgren (1855-1940) in 1906 in Paris, but was not erected at its present location at the Market Square in Kaartinkaupunki until 1908. Havis Amanda is one of Vallgren's Parisian Art Nouveau works. It is cast in bronze and the fountain it resides in is made of granite. She is a mermaid who stands on seaweed as she rises from the water, with four fish spouting water at her feet and surrounded by four sea lions.

Uspenski Cathedral, Helsinki
Uspenski Cathedral is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Helsinki, Finland, dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos. Its name comes from the Old Church Slavonic word uspenie, which denotes the Dormition. Designed by the Russian architect Alexey Gornostaev (1808–1862). The cathedral was built after his death in 1862–1868. The crypt chapel of the cathedral is named after the holy Alexander Hotovitzky, who served as vicar of the Orthodox parish of Helsinki 1914–1917.

South Harbour, Helsinki
South Harbour is a bay and harbour area immediately next to the centre of the city of Helsinki, Finland. It is the largest passenger harbour in Finland, and 5.4 million passengers travel through it every year. The most of the harbour's traffic is to Stockholm, Sweden and Tallinn, Estonia, and cruises. In summertime, there is also much small ship traffic. The bay is bordered by the districts of Katajanokka, Kaartinkaupunki, Ullanlinna and Kaivopuisto.
St. Henry's Cathedral
St. Henry's Cathedral in Helsinki, Finland, is dedicated to Henry, Bishop of Uppsala. It was constructed between 1858–1860. The architecture of the church is Gothic Revival with statues of Saint Henry, Saint Peter and Saint Paul decorating the exterior. Since Finland is predominantly Lutheran, the church was intended primarily for use by Catholic foreigners. The church is the main Catholic church in Helsinki, and offers Mass in many languages.
Kaartinkaupunki
Kaartinkaupunki is a neighbourhood in the southern part of Helsinki, Finland. Kaartinkaupunki consists of the area between the Esplanadi park and the Tähtitornin vuori park. Its area was first confirmed in 1812, but the neighbourhood was only named in 1959. It is neighbourhood number 3 in Helsinki, belonging to the Ullanlinna district and to the Southern main district. Kaartinkaupunki was named after the old Russian army barracks located near Kasarmitori.

The Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA, Finnish: Ulkopoliittinen instituutti, Swedish: Utrikespolitiska institutet, UPI) is an independent research institute that produces topical information of a high standard on international relations and the European Union. The Institute takes an active role in public debates and its expertise supports political decision-making. The core of the Institute's funding comes from the Parliament of Finland.
Mannerheim Museum
The Mannerheim Museum is located in Helsinki, Finland. It is dedicated to preserving and displaying items related to the life and times of Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, a Finnish statesman and military officer. The Mannerheim Museum is located on top of a hill in a prestigious residential area next to the Kaivopuisto park in Helsinki. The building was the home of Mannerheim from 1924 to 1951.

Herring fair
The herring market or herring fair is an annual event held in Helsinki, Finland, in October every year. During the herring market, many archipelagans arrive in the Eteläsatama (Södra hamnen) harbour to sell fish and other archipelago products directly from their boats. The event is organised by the city of Helsinki. The event is very old; according to common knowledge it was first held in 1743. In 1820 its place was settled as Eteläsatama.
Norrmén house
The Norrmén house, also known as the Norrmén castle and palace, was a red brick residential house representing the neo-renaissance architecture, situated for 63 years in Katajanokka, Helsinki, Finland, opposite the Uspenski Cathedral. It was designed by architect Theodor Höijer for the chairman of the Helsinki city council, Alfred Norrmén, who ordered the building plans from Höijer in 1896. The four-floor building was constructed at a fast pace, and the building was already completed in 1897.

Palace Hotel, Helsinki
The Palace Hotel is an historic modernist hotel in Helsinki, opened in 1952, the year of the Helsinki Olympic Games. The building was designed by architects Viljo Revell and Keijo Petäjä, and was constructed during 1949–1952. In addition to the Palace Hotel and related restaurants, the building hosted also the main offices of the Confederation of Finnish Industry and Employers.
Guggenheim Helsinki –Plan
Guggenheim Helsinki –Plan describes the initiative to establish a Guggenheim Helsinki Museum in Finland, which was initially announced in January 2011. Helsinki City Council rejected Guggenheim Helsinki –Plan on May 2, 2012. According to a survey of Helsingin Sanomat 3/4 of citizens opposed the project in Helsinki and 82% of citizens in Vantaa. A debate with heated undertones was waged among local political and culture political activists against the project.
