Memphis, Egypt
Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are located near the town of Mit Rahina, south of Cairo. According to legend related by Manetho, the city was founded by the pharaoh Menes around 3000 BC. Capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, it remained an important city throughout ancient Mediterranean history. It occupied a strategic position at the mouth of the Nile delta, and was home to feverish activity.
Dahshur
Dahshur (Arabic دهشور Dahšūr, in English often called Dashur), is a royal necropolis located in the desert on the west bank of the Nile approximately 40 kilometres south of Cairo. It is known chiefly for several pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest and best preserved in Egypt, built from 2613-2589 BCE.
Helwan University
Helwan University is a public university based in Helwan, Egypt. It comprises 20 faculties as well as 50 research centers. Generally, it is known for engineering and business studies. It's notable for its Faculties of Engineering (there are, in fact, two), Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration that contains unique and special departments such as foreign trade, international relations and business information systems and Faculty of Computers & Information.
Acanthus (Egypt)
Acanthus was an ancient city of Egypt, on the western bank of the Nile, 120 stadia south of Memphis. Its site is located at the modern village of Dashour. The town was in the Memphite Nome, and, therefore, in the Heptanomis. It was celebrated for a temple of Osiris, and received its name from a sacred enclosure composed of the acanthus plants. (Strabo p. 809; Diod. i. 97; Steph. B. s. v. ; Ptol. iv. 5. § 55.)
