Mosque of Ibn Tulun

Khairy Pasha palace

The neo-Mameluk building and former palace of Khairy Pacha is on 113 Qasr el-Aini Street, on Midan el Tahrir, Cairo and has served as the American University in Cairo's (AUC) Tahrir Square campus ('AUC Downtown' since 1920). The building in the photograph on the right was originally the Girls School of the Greek Community of Cairo. In 1964 it was sold to AUC and served as the 'Greek Campus'. Ideally the photograph should be replaced with one of the main AUC building.

Mosque of Sultan al-Muayyad

It replaced a prison which originally stood next to Bab Zuwayla.

Amir Taz Palace
