Ciudad Mitad del Mundo
The Ciudad Mitad del Mundo (Spanish: Middle of the World City) is a tract of land owned by the prefecture of the province of Pichincha, Ecuador. It is located at San Antonio parish of the canton of Quito, north of the center of Quito. The grounds contain the Museo Etnográfico Mitad del Mundo, a museum about the indigenous ethnography of Ecuador.
Battle of Pichincha
The Battle of Pichincha took place on 24 May 1822, on the slopes of the Pichincha volcano, 3,500 meters above sea-level, right next to the city of Quito, in modern Ecuador. The encounter, fought in the context of the Spanish American wars of independence, pitted a Patriot army under General Antonio José de Sucre against a Royalist army commanded by Field Marshal Melchor Aymerich.

San Antonio de Pichincha
San Antonio de Pichincha, or simply San Antonio, also but less frequently known by its older name San Antonio de Lulumpamba, is a rural parish of Quito Canton, Pichincha Province, Ecuador. The seat of the parish lies in an arid plain with sandy soil known as Lulumpamba. The Quechua language name of the plain means plain of fruit(s). It is southeast of Pululahua Volcano and east of Casitagua Volcano. In the village there is also a Lulumpamba street named after the plain.
Calderón (Quito)
Calderón is a rural parish of Quito Canton, Pichincha Province, Ecuador. It lies northeast of the city of Quito, on Ecuador Highway 35 (designated by the Ecuadorian transit police as E-35), a north-to-south-running highway which is the Ecuadorian segment of the Pan-American Highway. The seat of the parish (the village) is particularly known for its cemetery, which attracts visitors during All Souls' Day (11-02), and for its decorative mazapán figurines.

In the central square of Calacalí there is an equator monument. A similar, larger equator monument is in Mitad del Mundo. Calacalí is the first village of the eastern end of a road known as Carretera Calacalí-La Independencia.

Pululagua is a dormant volcano in the north of Quito Canton, Pichincha Province, Ecuador. The volcano is in the Western Cordillera of the northern Ecuadorian Andes, approximately west-southwest of Mojanda and north of Casitahua volcanoes. Pululagua's caldera is approximately 5 km wide. The volcano is within an Ecuadorian national park known as Reserva Geobotánica Pululahua.

Casitahua is a dormant, eroded volcano in the north of Quito Canton, Pichincha Province, Ecuador. The volcano is in the Western Cordillera of the northern Ecuadorian Andes, between Pululagua Volcano to the north and Pichincha Volcano approximately to the southwest. Casitahua's caldera is open approximately towards the west-northwest.

Estadio de Liga Deportiva Universitaria, commonly called La Casa Blanca (Spanish for "The White House"), is a football stadium in Quito, Ecuador that is the home ground of LDU Quito. Built between 1995 and 1997, the stadium hosted its first match on March 6, 1997 in a game between LDU Quito and Atlético Mineiro of Belo Horizonte. With a capacity of 55,104, it is the largest stadium in Quito, and the second largest in Ecuador after the Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha in Guayaquil.
Catequilla
Catequilla (also Kati-Killa) is an archaeological site in the Pomasqui Valley of Ecuador. Located in the Parish of San Antonio, near Quito, it has an elevation of 2,638 metres . Attributed to the Pre-Columbian era Quitu-Cara culture, it was presumably used as an astronomical observatory even before the arrival of the Incas, and is the only prehispanic site known to be exactly at Equator.
Pomasqui Valley
Pomasqui Valley is a valley on the northern outskirts of Quito, Ecuador. It is located on the equator, the so-called "Mitad del Mundo", at an altitude of around 2,600 metres above sea level. Hot and semi-arid, it is formed by a river tributary. The valley contains the Cerro de Catequilla, which contains the pre-Columbian astronomical observatory, Catequilla. The village of Pomasqui itself lies roughly 6 kilometres from the equator.
Pomasqui
Pomasqui is a village in Quito Canton, Ecuador. Located 16 kilometres north of Quito, and 6 kilometres from the equator, it is on the road to Ciudad Mitad del Mundo. The village's main plaza, Plaza Yerovi, features two churches, the Church of El Senor del Arbol ("the Lord of the Tree"), as well as the parish church, which contains some religious paintings which are considered odd. Santa Clara is the patron saint of Pomasqui.
