Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality
Lyngby-Taarbæk Kommune (the spelling Lyngby-Tårbæk Kommune is occasionally used) is a municipality in Region Hovedstaden near Copenhagen on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 39 km², and has a total population of 51,449 (2008). Its mayor as of 2010 is Søren P. Rasmussen, a member of the Liberal Party (Venstre) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Kongens Lyngby.

Sorgenfri (lit. "free of sorrow", like Sans Souci) is a neighbourhood in Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality in Greater Copenhagen lying just north of Kongens Lyngby. It is the site of Sorgenfri Palace.
Lyngby Stadion
Lyngby Stadion is a combined football and athletics stadium in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark. It is owned by the municipality of Lyngby-Taarbæk. It is the home of the football club Lyngby Boldklub, and Trongårdens IF athletics association. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 8,000. The stadium was taken in use for Lyngby in 1949 and it consists of two stands, the "old" and the "new" stand. The old stand was built in 1968 and the new stand, which primarily is a no-seated stand followed.

Brede is a suburb (technically, a bydel, a named neighbourhood) 14 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark; it is part of Virum in the Lyngby-Taarbæk Kommune, and approximately 3.500 live there. The Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Frilandsmuseet (The Open Air Museum), and The National Museum of Denmark's new museum, Brede Works, is located in Brede. Nærumbanen stops in Brede.
Sorgenfri Palace
Sorgenfri Palace is a royal residence of the Danish monarch, located in the Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality in Greater Copenhagen. Today the palace is closed to the public but the palace gardens are accessible when the monarch is not in residence. Count Christian of Rosenborg (a younger son of Prince Knud) and his wife Countess Anne-Dorte presently reside in the palace.
Frilandsmuseet
Frilandsmuseet (English: The Open Air Museum) is an open air museum in Lyngby at the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. Opened in 1897 and covering 40 hectares, it is one of the largest and oldest open-air museums in the world. It is a department under the Danish National Museum and is part of the research done on agricultural history
Brede Works
The National Museum of Denmark's new museum, Brede Works, lies in the countryside just north of Copenhagen in Denmark's largest, protected industrial plants. At the museum of Industrial culture, the visitors can be guided around by its own virtual person between old machines, hear how Denmark became an industrial society and even try to work at an assembly line. The exhibitions show the industrial development which has changed the everyday lives of the Danes over the past few centuries.
Bondebyen
Bondebyen (Pesants' Town in Danish) is a historical neighbourhood of Kongens Lyngby. It is considered the best-preserved country town of the Copenhagen area, albeit it is now in the middle of the heavily urbanized Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality. Among the notable buildings is the house of Støvlet-Cathrine, as well as Lindegaarden (Linden Farm), built between 1841–1883. Høstvej nr. 4, Vilhelminelyst, was Gyrithe Lemche's ancestral home.
Frieboeshvile
Frieboeshvile is a Baroque-style country house in Kongens Lyngby north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located across the street from Sorgenfri Palace, where Lyngby Main Street extends from Kongevejen. The most notable former resident is Georg Ferdinand Duckwitz who played an important part in the Rescue of the Danish Jews during World War II. The house now serves as a historic house museum showing how Copenhagen peers decorated their country homes in the late 18th century.
