Ryan Tower

Ryan Tower was a 228.9 metres tall guyed mast on the Clifford Slope of Camp Fortune in Chelsea, Quebec, Canada. Erected (using a helicopter) in 1961, sponsored by CFRA-FM owner, Frank Ryan, its top was 580 metres above sea level, making it the highest point in the Ottawa/Gatineau area and was an easy-to-spot landmark.

Camp Fortune

Camp Fortune is a commercial alpine ski centre. It is located in the Gatineau Hills north of Gatineau, Quebec, approximately 15 minutes from Downtown Ottawa, Ontario. Ryan Tower, was a 228.9 metre (750 feet) tall guyed mast that was built in 1961, was located at the summit of the Clifford slope. The tower was taken down on Sunday, November 4, 2012 and its functions were transferred to a new, nearby replacement tower.
