Mississippi River (Ontario)
The Mississippi River is a tributary of the Ottawa River in eastern Ontario in Canada. It is 200 kilometres in length from its source in Upper Mazinaw Lake, has a drainage area of 4,450 square kilometres, and has a mean discharge of 40 cubic metres per second . There are more than 250 lakes in the watershed. From its headwaters at Mazinaw Lake to its confluence at the Ottawa River near Fitzroy Harbour the river drops 323 metres in elevation.
Sand Point, Ontario
Sand Point is a community in the township of McNab/Braeside, Ontario, Canada, along the Ottawa River, roughly six miles to the west of Arnprior on the River Road. During the 1860s and early 1870s it was the terminus of the Canada Central Railway (subsequently acquired by the Canadian Pacific Railway). At one point Sand Point boasted a hotel, a dance hall, a general store, and a post office.
Fitzroy Township, Ontario
Fitzroy is an historic township originally part of Carleton County in eastern Ontario, Canada. Fitzroy was located in the western part of the county, bordered to the northeast by Torbolton Township, to the southeast by Huntley Township, to the southwest by Pakenham Township and to the northwest by the Ottawa River. The township was established in 1823. The first permanent settler is believed to have been Charles Shirreff around 1818. Shirreff founded the settlement of Fitzroy Harbour in 1831.
Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario
Fitzroy Harbour is a small village within the city of Ottawa in eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located on the Ottawa River at the mouth of the Carp River. A branch of the Mississippi River, known as the Snye, also empties into the Ottawa to the west of the village. The town was founded by Charles Shirreff in 1831. There was a waterfall known as Chats Falls on the river here, later replaced by a hydroelectric power station and dam, currently operated by Ontario Power Generation.
Galetta is a village in eastern Ontario, Canada, located on the Mississippi River near its mouth in the Ottawa River. Once part of Fitzroy Township and later West Carleton, it is now part of the city of Ottawa. The area was first settled in 1823. It was originally named Hubbell's Falls after James Hubbell, then Steen's Falls after James Steen who built a mill here, and finally Galetta in 1873 after James Galetti Whyte who also built mills on the river here.
O'Brien Theatre (Arnprior)
The O'Brien Theatre is a historic cinema in the town of Arnprior, Ontario. Arnprior's first cinema opened on the site in 1906, and the current building dates from 1919. It was originally both a cinema and venue for vaudeville performances. With the growth in popularity of films the building renovated and became a full time cinema in 1929. It was owned by the O'Brien Entertainment Corporation, which owned a number of cinemas in the Ottawa Valley.

The lake was created in 1976 by a hydroelectric dam on the Madawaska River just before it joins the Ottawa River.
Chats Falls were a set of waterfalls on the Ottawa River, near Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario, and Quyon, Quebec, Canada. A hydroelectric generating station is now located here, owned and operated jointly by Hydro-Québec and Ontario Power Generation. It lies within the cities of Ottawa and Pontiac, Quebec.
The Pakenham Bridge is a structure unique in North America. It is composed of five masonry arches that span 268 feet to cross the Mississippi River at the town of Pakenham within Mississippi Mills.
Lac des Chats
Lac des Chats is a lake on the Ottawa River that forms the boundary between the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. It is formed by the Chats Falls dam and serves as the reservoir for the Chats Falls generating station. Most of the lake is located in Pontiac Regional County Municipality, Quebec, and in Renfrew County, Ontario, but the easternmost part (near the dam) lies in Ottawa, Ontario and in Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais Regional County Municipality, Quebec.

Arnprior Solar Generating Station
The Arnprior Solar Project is a 23.4 MW solar farm located near the town of near Arnprior, Ontario, Canada. It was developed and is owned by EDF EN Canada and is operated by EDF Renewable Services, both units of EDF Energies Nouvelles. Construction began in May 2009 and operation commenced in December 2009. The project consists of 312,000 PV thin film solar panels made by First Solar and mounted on 13,000 fixed-tilt racks in a 200 acres field.
Kirkman House, Arnprior
Kirkman House in Arnprior, Ontario in Canada, is a historic house that was built in the 1870s. It was used during 1916 to 1995 as a convent home, and was known as Sacred Heart Convent. In 1996 it was renamed to "Kirkwood House" and has been a bed and breakfast. The house is site #13 on a heritage trail of Arnprior historic sites.

The White Lake fen is a small wetland on the shore of White Lake in Lanark County, Ontario. It has been designated both an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest and a Provincially Significant Wetland; it is also listed as a Special Place in Lanark County. Fens are a relatively rare wetland habitat in the region of Lanark County; they can occur on either marble or limestone bedrock. White lake has a granite dome along its north shore, while it spreads over marble bedrock to the south.
