Battle of The Cedars

The Battle of The Cedars was a series of military confrontations early in the American Revolutionary War during the Continental Army's invasion of Quebec that had begun in September 1775. The skirmishes, which involved limited combat, occurred in May 1776 at and around The Cedars, 45 km west of Montreal, Quebec. Continental Army units were opposed by a small number of British troops leading a larger force of Indians, and militia.

Variable frequency transformer

A variable frequency transformer is used to transmit electricity between two alternating current domains. The VFT is a relatively recent development (first deployed in 2004). Most asynchronous grid inter-ties use high-voltage direct current converters, while synchronous grid inter-ties are connected by lines & "ordinary" transformers, but without the ability to control power flow between the systems.
