Central Elgin Collegiate Institute is the second largest of three public secondary schools in St. Thomas, Ontario. CECI has a reputation as an academically-minded secondary school. At one time the school was part of the International Baccalaureate Organization; however, that status is no longer recognized. St. Thomas-Elgin Memorial Centre

The St. Thomas-Elgin Memorial Centre is a multi-purpose arena in St. Thomas, Ontario. It has a capacity of 2,600 and was built in 1953. It hosted the St. Thomas Wildcats of the United Hockey League and until recently the St. Thomas Stars of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Parkside Collegiate Institute

Parkside Collegiate Institute is the largest of the three secondary schools in St. Thomas, Ontario with almost 1,000 students, under supervision of the Thames Valley District School Board. In early February 2007 there was a fire at Parkside that damaged the Cafetorium and caused smoke damage in the Music and Art rooms. Repairs were complete by September 2007.

Alma College (St. Thomas, Ontario)

Alma College was a girls private school in St. Thomas, Ontario in Canada. Built in 1878, the school was in operation between 1881 and 1988. The college closed in 1988 in part due to a teacher's strike. Primary school and music classes were still taught on campus until 1994. Following its closure the school building was used as a set for several movie productions; Silent Hill (interior shots), its image is included in the 2009 film Orphan and the made for TV movie, Mr. Headmistress (1997).

Elgin County Railway Museum

The Elgin County Railway Museum is a rail transport museum in St. Thomas, Ontario. The museum and most of the collections are housed in the former Michigan Central Railroad locomotive shops. Built 1913, the shops were part of more extensive servicing facilities on the Canada Southern Railway. The museum acquired the facility in 1988 when the last owners, Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway, left the area. The museum finally occuppied the building in 1988.
