The Glebe

The Glebe is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located just south of Ottawa's downtown area, with its northern border being demarcated by the Queensway highway. It is bounded by the Rideau Canal to the south and east. Many maps show the western edge as Bronson Avenue, but some also include the triangle farther west formed by Bronson, Carling Avenue, and Dow's Lake. The Glebe Community Association uses the latter definition. As of 2006, the area's population was 10,886.

The eastern boundary is defined by Riverdale Avenue and Main Street. Bronson Avenue forms the western border of the residential neighbourhood.

The Billings Bridge Plaza is a shopping centre located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Originally built in 1954, it was the first shopping centre built in the city. It did not become enclosed until 1972. The Glebe Community Centre is a noted building in Ottawa, Canada, that is the symbolic heart of the Glebe neighbourhood. Construction began in 1914 and took ten years. MacKay United Church

MacKay United Church is a United Church of Canada church in the New Edinburgh neighbourhood of Ottawa, Canada. The church was founded in 1875 on land donated by William MacKinnon, grandson of Thomas McKay, and the founder of New Edinburgh and namesake of the church. The building was expanded in 1924 and the entire structure was demolished for a new building completed in 1910. It was originally called MacKay Presbyterian, but became MacKay United, on June 10, 1925.

Billings Bridge

Billings Bridge is a bridge over the Rideau River in Ottawa. Bank Street passes over the river by way of this bridge. The bridge was named after Braddish Billings, who settled in this area and established a farm nearby in 1812. The first bridge, originally called Farmers Bridge, was built over the river here in 1830. The current bridge was built in 1916. Billings Bridge also referred to a village, located south of the river near the bridge, which became part of the city of Ottawa in 1950.

Carleton is currently the only O-Train station with separate tracks and platforms for each direction, in order to allow the two trains working the otherwise single-track line at any given time to pass. George Dunbar Bridge

The George Dunbar Bridge is a vehicular and pedestrian bridge in Ottawa, Ontario carrying Bronson Avenue over the Rideau River and connecting it to the Airport Parkway. The original Dunbar Bridge was completed in 1955. It was demolished in December 1994. The current bridge was constructed in 1993–1996. The Northbound (East) span was built in May 1993–December 1994 adjacent to the 1955 bridge. The Southbound (West) span was built in 1995–96 on the site of the demolished 1955 bridge.
