Sint-Andries
Sint-Andries is suburb of Bruges in the province of West Flanders in Belgium. The Jan Breydel Stadium, where the football teams Club Brugge and Cercle Brugge play, is situated in Sint-Andries. Lys is the name of a département of the First French Empire in present Belgium. It is named after the river Lys. It was created on 1 October 1795, when the Southern Netherlands were annexed by France. Before its occupation, its territory was part of the county of Flanders. Its capital was Bruges. The département was subdivided into the following arrondissements and cantons: Bruges, cantons: Ardooie, Bruges, Gistel, Ostend, Ruiselede, Tielt and Torhout.
De Werf
De Werf is a Belgian arts center based in Bruges. It organizes concerts and records CDs for jazz musicians. The first record it released was Sketches of Belgium by K. D. 's Basement Party, a band led by Kris Defoort. The next year, Octurn's first album went out on this label. In 1995, it released Variations On A Love Supreme (compositions by Kris Defoort and Fabrizio Cassol). In 2002, an 11-CD box was edited by De Werf under the name The Finest Of Belgian Jazz.
The English Theatre of Bruges
The English Theatre of Bruges was an English-language theatre in Bruges, Belgium. The theatre opened on 1 May 2007 in de Kuipersstraat with a production of "Caviar & Chips". The venue was an old cinema. After six months the theatre closed for a year and a half, to reopen in the summer of 2009 in a more intimate venue on the Walplein in Bruges. However, in October 2010 the theatre closed its doors again. The Artistic Director of the theatre was Clare Allen.
Klokke Stadion
Klokke Stadion, from 1931 on known as Albert Dyserynck Stadion, was a multi-use stadium in Bruges, Belgium. It was the home ground of the Club Brugge K.V. until the current Jan Breydel Stadium opened in 1975. The stadium held 25,000 spectators. It was named after Albert Dyserynck, who was president from 1919 to 1931 and had donated the property to the Club.
Huis 't Schaep
Huis 't Schaep is the name of two 17th century dwellings, which have been converted by Samuel Coucke into one large house. The current address is Korte Vuldersstraat 14, 8000 Bruges, Belgium. The buildings had a step gable each, but have been entirely remodeled in the Gothic Revival Style during the conversion by Samuel Coucke. It was the house and workshop of the Coucke family, who made stained glass windows.
