Sylhet is a major city in north-eastern Bangladesh. It is the main city of Sylhet Division, which consists of Sunamganj, Habiganj (variant of Habibganj), Maulvi Bazar and Sylhet Districts, and it was granted metropolitan city status in March 2009. It is the largest science & technology university in Asia. It is also one of the nine PhD granting research universities of Bangladesh. The university was founded by the Government of Bangladesh according to a university act in 1986 to give special importance in science and technology education.
Sylhet Divisional Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Sylhet, Bangladesh. It is currently used mostly for cricket matches as well as football.
