Heydar Aliyev International Airport
Heydar Aliyev International Airport (former Bina International Airport, Azerbaijani: Heydər Əliyev adına beynəlxalq hava limanı) is the international airport in Azerbaijan located 20 km northeast of the capital Baku. The airport is the home of Azerbaijan Airlines, the national flag carrier. It is the busiest airport in Azerbaijan and of the Caucasus. On March 10, 2004, the airport was renamed to Heydar Aliyev, the former President of Azerbaijan.
Shafa Stadium
Shafa Stadium is an all-seater football stadium located in Baku and the home of Azerbaijan Premier League club FC Inter Baku. The stadium was built on the site of Termist stadium in 2011 and has a capacity of 5,300 spectators. The stadium surrounded by practice fields, administration buildings and newly built four-star Inter Hotel.
Ateshgah of Baku
The Baku Ateshgah or "Fire Temple" is a castle-like religious structure in Surakhani, a suburb of greater Baku, Azerbaijan. "Atash" (آتش) is the Persian word for fire. The pentagonal complex, which has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetrapillar-altar in the middle, was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. It was abandoned after 1883 when oil and gas plants were established in the vicinity.
2000 Baku earthquake
The 2000 Baku earthquake occurred on Saturday, November 25, 2000 at 22:10 local time, measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale in the epicentre with 6.3 in Baku, Azerbaijan, and three minutes later followed by a quake measuring 5.9. It was the strongest for almost 160 years, since 1842 in the Baku suburbs and in addition to the capital affected Sumgayit, Shamakhi and neighboring cities.
Suraxanı raion
Suraxanı (also, Surakhany, Ssurachany and Surakhani) is a settlement and raion of Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 196,700. The raion is best known for the Fire Temple of Baku, a castle-like temple and monastery complex known locally as the Ateşgah or Ateshgyakh. It was a Hindu temple. The complex was built on a pocket of natural gas that once produced a flame from natural gas seepage.
Nardaran
Nardaran is a settlement and municipality on the Abşeron Peninsula in Baku, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 8,300. Located 25 kilometers northeast of central Baku, it is politically part of the Baku city-subdivision and treated as a suburb. Unlike the rest of the country which is staunchly secular and which is considered religiously progressive, Nardaran is a lone center of conservative Shi'a Islam in Azerbaijan.

Yanar Dag (Azerbaijani: Yanar Dağ, translated as "Fire Mountain"), is a natural gas fire which blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, which itself is known as the "land of fire. " Flames jet out into the air 10 feet from a thin, porous sandstone layer.
Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Baku
The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral was the main Russian Orthodox cathedral in Baku, Azerbaijan from 1898, when it was built until its destruction in 1936 during the Joseph Stalin era. The cathedral is also known as the biggest Russian Orthodox structure ever built in the South Caucasus.

Absheron peninsula
The Absheron Peninsula, is a peninsula in Azerbaijan. It is host to Baku, the biggest and the most populous city of the country, and also the Baku metropolitan area, with its satellite cities Sumgayit and Khyrdalan. There are three districts, of which two are urban (Baku and Sumgayit), and one, is suburban district in Absheron region. It extends 37 miles (60 km) eastward into the Caspian Sea, and reaches a maximum width of 19 miles (30 km).

Boyukshor (Azerbaijani: Böyük Şor gölü), also spelled separately Boyuk Shor (in translation refers to "Big Salty Waters") is the second largest lake of Azerbaijan and largest on Absheron Peninsula. It is located in the center of the Absheron peninsula, on the boundaries of Binagadi, Sabunchu and Narimanov raions of the city of Baku.

Juma Mosque (Baku)
Juma Mosque - is a mosque in Baku, Azerbaijan. Friday Mosque is located in historical part of the city – in Icheri Sheher. The mosque was repeatedly reconstructed during its existence period. A new Friday Mosque was constructed in the place of old mosque in means of Baku merchant Haji Shikhlali Dadashov, in 1899. It was constructed in place of old Friday Mosque and it is considered that it was appeared in that place, where a temple of zoroastrians located.
Flame Towers
Flame Towers is a residential complex with a roof height of 190 m in Baku, Azerbaijan. The estimated cost of Flame Towers is US$350 million. When completed, the structure will be one of the tallest buildings in Baku. Construction began in 2007, with completion in 2012. The facades of the three Flame Towers are turned into gigantic display screens with the use of more than 10,000 high-power LED luminaires, supplied by the Osram subsidiary Traxon Technologies.

Eighth Kilometer District Stadium
Eighth Kilometer District Stadium – also known as the Bakcell Arena for sponsorship purposes is a stadium in Nizami raion, Baku, Azerbaijan. It was opened in 2012 and has a capacity of 11,000 spectators. The stadium was used to host some matches of the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
Ismailiyya building
The Ismailiyya building is a historical building that currently serves as the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. It is located on Istiglaliyyat Street in Baku. The building was constructed for the Muslim Charity Society by Józef Plośko at the expense of the millionaire Musa Naghiyev in commemoration of his deceased son Ismayil, and was named Ismailiyya after him. Construction began in 1908 and ended in 1913. The building was constructed in the Venetian Gothic style.
Nardaran Fortress
Nardaran Fortress - was built in 1301, by architect Mahmud Sad oglu in the northern part of Absheron Peninsula. An inscription on Nardaran fortress, which was translated by A.A. Alasgarzade, says: But the geographical location of Nardaran Fortress indicates that there couldn’t be a foremost defense. Similar fortresses were built there, from where it was expected to be attacked. Such regions were in the western borders and seashores of Absheron.
Suraxanı (town)
Suraxanı or Surakhani is a town in the eastern part of Azerbaijan, administrative center of Surakhani Rayon of Baku agglomeration. It is located in the Absheron peninsula, at a altitude of 12 meters above sea level, 30 km to the north-east from Baku. A name of the city is translated as “warm house” from the Tat language. From times immemorial outskirts of Surakhani were famed for abundance of oil wells.
Black City (Baku)
Black City is the general name for the eastern neighbourhoods of Baku, which once formed its suburbs. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century it became the main location for Azerbaijan's oil industry.
