Hutt River (South Australia)
The Hutt River, in the Clare Valley of South Australia, is a stream rising near Sevenhill and flowing in a generally northern direction past the town of Clare and through good farming and pastoral country into the southern side of the Broughton River. It is reputedly one of two streams discovered by surveyor, William Hill in 1838, who was a friend and contemporary of the explorer Edward John Eyre.
Gregory, Western Australia
Gregory is a small town and fishing port in the Mid West region of Western Australia. At the 2006 census, Gregory had a population of 46. Port Gregory, located close to the mouth of the Hutt River, was established in 1849 and named after brothers Augustus and Frank Gregory, two of Western Australia's most active explorers. In May 1853 sixty convicts and Pensioner Guards arrived from England via Fremantle in the ships Leander and GoldDigger.
