The Shire of Johnstone was a local government area of Queensland. It was located on the Coral Sea coast about 90 kilometres south of the city of Cairns. The final kilometre of the route is a scenic drive climbing 100 metres over the Moresby Range before descending into a picturesque bay. The Bay has a Surf Lifesaving Club and a small caravan park.
