Brooklyn is a town to the north of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 51 kilometres from the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Hornsby Shire. Brooklyn is sometimes considered the northernmost suburb of the Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area, as it is located on the Sydney side of the Hawkesbury River, and Mooney Mooney Bridge. It is part of The County of Cumberland, in which Sydney city is located, but Brooklyn is seldom considered part of the city.

Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge

The Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge spans the Hawkesbury River just north of the town of Brooklyn on the northern outskirts of Sydney, Australia. The railway bridge was to be the last link in a railway network that linked Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and was a major engineering feat at the time.

Dangar Island is a forested island, 29 hectares in area, in the Hawkesbury River, just north of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Dangar Island is a suburb of Hornsby Shire and as at the 2011 Census had a population of 267, which swells dramatically during holiday seasons. The island is serviced regularly by the Dangar Island Ferry service that departs from Brooklyn and takes about ten minutes. The Brooklyn ferry is itself adjacent to the CityRail station of Hawkesbury River.

Peats Ferry Bridge

The Peats Ferry Bridge is a road bridge which crosses the Hawkesbury River north of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. It was built as part of the Hornsby-Kariong section of the Pacific Highway, the first direct road link between Sydney and Newcastle, New South Wales. Before this was built, road transport had to use a much longer route through Wisemans Ferry, or even further west. Construction of the bridge commenced in 1938 but it was not completed until May 1945.
