Tomaree National Park
Tomaree is a national park in New South Wales, Australia, 145-155 km northeast of Sydney in the Port Stephens local government area. It is located on the shores of the Tasman Sea, extending north from Fishermans Bay to Shoal Bay passing through Boat Harbour, One Mile, Nelson Bay and Fingal Bay.

Named after the adjacent shallow bay, itself named after the Salamander, a convict ship from the Third Fleet, which was the first European vessel to enter Port Stephens (1791), it is a mainly residential suburb with a large shopping centre. At the 2011 census Salamander Bay had a population of 4,844.
Fingal Bay, New South Wales
Fingal Bay is the eastern-most suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. The only population centre is the township of the same name, which itself is named after the adjacent, small, semi-circular bay. At the 2011 census, the population of the town was 1,503. Except for the township, most of Fingal Bay is included in the Tomaree National Park, which includes forested areas, coastal scrubland, beaches and most of the Fingal headland.

Bay FM 99.3 is a narrowcast FM radio station serving the Tomaree and Tilligerry Peninsulas of Port Stephens in New South Wales, Australia. The station's licence was granted on 29 April 1998 and it transmits from Gan Gan Hill in Nelson Bay. Originally broadcasting on 98.3MHz, the station's frequency was changed to 99.3MHz on 8 August 2003. Bay FM 99.3 is owned and managed by Geoff and Jean Brown.

It was named after Captain James Corlette who skippered the 63 tonnes cutter Lambton which was the first privately owned local vessel. The Corlette was first used to ship timber and wool out of Port Stephens in 1816.

The parks are positioned to provide quick access to the suburb's two beaches. One Mile Beach, after which the area was named, is a family-friendly surf beach that is popular with tourists while Samurai Beach is clothing optional.
Boat Harbour, New South Wales
Boat Harbour is a suburb of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. The main population centre of the suburb is the village also known as Boat Harbour. Both lie adjacent to the bay after which they were named. From the easternmost end of Ocean Parade in highest part of the suburb, adjacent to the Tomaree National Park at Morna Point, there are striking views of the coastline.

HMAS Assault
HMAS Assault was a Royal Australian Navy Naval Training Centre at Nelson Bay in the Port Stephens area of New South Wales, Australia during World War II. The site was chosen because Port Stephens was relatively isolated and provided a safe haven from the Japanese submarine activity occurring off the east coast of Australia. HMAS Westralia anchored in Port Stephens on 3 September 1942 to provide interim accommodation until HMAS Assault was completed.

Tea Gardens-Hawks Nest Bridge
The Tea Gardens-Hawks Nest Bridge, also known as the Singing Bridge, crosses the Myall River connecting the two townships of Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest in the Great Lakes Council, New South Wales, Australia. It got its name from the musical sounds the bridge railings generate during strong south-westerly winds causing the bridge to act as a wind harp.
Merksworth (1874)
The Merksworth was an iron steamer screw built in 1874 at, Paisley, that was wrecked when it swamped whilst carrying coal between Newcastle and Sydney and was lost off Newcastle, Stockton Beach, New South Wales on 7 May 1898.
Tomaree Battery
Tomaree Battery (Fort Tomaree) was an artillery battery located on the southern side of the entrance to Port Stephens at Tomaree Head, New South Wales, Australia. The battery was built during 1941 during the Second World War as part of Fortress Newcastle and was completed in 1942. Two 6 inch Mark VII guns in emplacements were located at the battery. Another smaller battery of two 3 pounder guns, known as Surf Battery, was also located at Tomaree Head.
PS Brighton
PS Brighton was a ferry constructed by Thomas B Seath of Rutherglen in 1883 for the Sydney to Manly run. She was hulked in 1916 and used as a storeship for timber exporters in Port Stephens. Her hull lies abandoned in The Duckhole at Port Stephens.
