Stoke-on-Trent Garden Festival

The Stoke-on-Trent National Garden Festival was the second of Britain's National Garden Festivals. It was held in the city from 1 May to 26 October 1986, and was opened by the Queen. Preparation of the site involved the reclamation of land formerly occupied by the Shelton Bar steelworks (1830-1978), about two miles north-west of the city centre, between Hanley and Burslem. British Steel's Shelton Bar steel rolling mill remained in use, finally closing in 2000.

Etruria Hall

Etruria Hall in Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England was the home of the potter Josiah Wedgwood. It was built between 1768–1771 by Joseph Pickford. Etruria Hall was the site of the innovative research into photography by Thomas Wedgwood in the 1790s. There is a small commemorative plaque on the Hall. Due to financial difficulties, it was sold in the 1840s by Francis Wedgwood.

The Sugarmill

The Sugarmill, is a live music venue and nightclub situated in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England. The venue was opened in 1995 as The Stage before being renamed in 1999. It launched its main club night, 'Electric' in 1995. Towards the end of 2007 the roof of The Sugarmill was converted so that it could be opened up to the public, and now has toilets, a bar (with TV), seating and heated lamps.

Hanley railway station

Hanley railway station was built by the North Staffordshire Railway as part of the Potteries Loop Line and served the town of Hanley, Staffordshire, England. The original station opened along with the first section of the Loop in 1864, but when the latter reached Burslem in 1873, a new station was built on a sharp curve in a cutting below Trinity Street. The old station remained in use for goods traffic.

Burslem railway station

Burslem railway station was a station on the Potteries Loop Line that served the town of Burslem, Staffordshire. It was located on Moorland Road, adjacent to Burslem Park. It should have opened with the extension of the Potteries Loop Line from Hanley on 1 November 1873 but the Board of Trade inspector was not satisfied so there was a delay of a month before opening. The station closed in 1964 when the Loop Line closed.

Cobridge railway station

Cobridge railway station was located on the Potteries Loop Line and served the Cobridge area of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. The station was located between Elder Road and Sandbach Road. The station closed in 1964 when the passenger service on the Loop was withdrawn. The trackbed is now a footpath and the tunnel, which was to the south of the station, has been filled in.

Waterloo Road (NSR) railway station

Waterloo Road Railway Station was built by the North Staffordshire Railway as part of on the Potteries Loop Line and served the north of the town of Hanley, Staffordshire. The station opened in 1873 and closed to passengers in 1943. General goods traffic remained until 1966 with oil traffic continuing until 1969 No trace of the station remains today, the station was at the road crossing on Waterloo Road between Hanley and Cobridge.
