Quiapo, Manila
Quiapo is a district and a primary city square of Manila. It derives its name from the water cabbage, which is named Quiapo or Kiapo in the Tagalog language. Referred to as the "Old Downtown of Manila", Quiapo is home to the Quiapo Church, where the feast of the Black Nazarene is held with millions of people attending annually. Quiapo has also made a name for itself as a place for marketplace bargain hunting.
Black Nazarene
The Black Nazarene, known to devotees in Spanish as Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno (Tagalog: Poong Itim na Nazareno) is a life-sized, dark wooden sculpture of Jesus Christ carrying the cross, while representing his passion and suffering and is believed to be miraculous by many Filipino Catholics. Originally with fair complexion, it is believed to have turned dark after the statue survived a burning galleon ship on its arrival from Mexico.

Doroteo Jose LRT Station is a station on the Manila LRT Yellow Line (LRT-1). Like all other LRT-1 stations, Doroteo Jose station station is above-ground. After the LRT-1 Extension Project is Finished It Will Become The Center of The Whole Yellow Line of the LRT.

St. Stephen's Parish, Manila
St. Stephen's Parish, pro-cathedral, is the oldest Chinese Protestant church in the Philippines (the oldest Chinese church in the Philippines is the Binondo Church). It was established in 1903. The church is situated in the Sta. Cruz district of Manila, adjacent to St. Stephen's High School. Its former rector, The Very Rev. Dr. Patrick Tanhuanco, is now the dean of St. Andrew's Theological Seminary in Quezon City.

The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene, also known as Saint John the Baptist Parish and informally known as Quiapo Church is a prominent Roman Catholic church Latin-rite Basilica located in the District of Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. The church is reputedly famous for enshrining the Black Nazarene, a dark statue of Jesus Christ which many faithful claim to have miraculous powers. The parish belongs to the Archdiocese of Manila and is currently rectored by Rev. Msgr. Jose Clemente Ignacio.

Presidential Proclamation 1081
Presidential Proclamation 108 established martial law in the Philippines. It was issued by then President Ferdinand E. Marcos on 23 September 1972. The proclamation cited the need "to save the Republic and reform society," from infiltration by "lawless elements" that were being propped up by a foreign power that sought to overthrow his democratically elected government.
