Queenstown Events Centre is a multi-purpose sports stadium located in Queenstown, Otago in the South Island of New Zealand. Some of the activities that occur at the centre are: Cricket and Rugby at Davies Park Swimming at Alpine Aqualand (which also has a hydroslide) Fitness training at Alpine Health & Fitness Tennis and Netball in the outdoor courts Indoor Netball, Indoor Football and Climbing in the Auditorium Opened in 1997, the venue is located on Queenstown Lakes District Council–owned land and is a multi-purpose indoor and outdoor venue. The Stadium has a capacity of 19,000 spectators with 6,000 permanent seating and normally 13,000 temporary called in. Regarded as one of the most spectacular international cricket venues in the world, the ground is located between the foot of the Remarkables and the shores of Lake Wakatipu with Queenstown International Airport's Runway threshold nearby affording amazing views of large aircraft taking off and landing. The venue hosts regular international cricket matches, as well as several Highlanders rugby games, trade shows, exhibitions, seminars and concerts. It is also a "home ground" for Otago Cricket. It is earmarked as a host venue for the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

Kelvin Heights also called the Kelvin Peninsula is a suburb of the town of Queenstown in the South Island of New Zealand. Most of the housing of this suburb is near Peninsula Road and is at the base of Peninsula Hill. It is one of the most expensive suburbs in New Zealand to buy a house in–with the median house value at about one million. As well as residential housing Kelvin Heights features part of the The Queenstown Trail which runs between the suburb and the Frankton Arm section of Lake Wakatipu. It also has a golf course and a christian camp which is over 50 years old. At one time public access to the prominent Deer Park Heights part of Peninsula Hill (which has several ex-film locations as well as a range of farm animals) was from off Peninsula Road but currently this is closed.

Lake Hayes is a small lake in the Wakatipu Basin in Central Otago, in New Zealand's South Island. It is located close to the towns of Arrowtown and Queenstown. The lake was originally known as Hays Lake after D. Hay, an Australian who came to the district looking for sheep country in 1859. Its name gradually changed to Lake Hayes, as its discovery was credited erroneously to Captain "Bully" Hayes, an early local character of the district. The southern end of the lake is close to State Highway 6, while the western side is bordered by Slope Hill. The main area for access to the lake is the northern end which has a large grassed area for recreation activities. The Lake Hayes Showgrounds which have a pavilion and parking area has an annual show called The Lake Hayes A&P Show. The nearby large residential sub-division of Lake Hayes Estate is just across the main highway and takes its name from Lake Hayes. A loop track runs around the lake and forms part of The Queenstown Trail and is popular for use by walkers, runners and cyclists.

The Duel II is the 17th season of the MTV reality game show, The Challenge (though at the time, known as Real World/Road Rules Challenge). The season is directly subsequent to The Island. The Duel II is the sequel to the show's 13th season, The Duel, and succeeds The Island season. It took place in Queenstown, New Zealand, with former cast members from MTV's The Real World and Road Rules competing along with several cast members from the Fresh Meat challenge. The cast departed for Queenstown, New Zealand on October 27, 2008 and filming ran through early December. The Queenstown Gardens, located next to the town of Queenstown, New Zealand is a botanical garden which contains a variety of exotic and native trees and plants as well as a large pond and a range of facilities. Some of the facilities in the Garden include Tennis, Lawn Bowls, Skating, Disc Golf and Ice Skating/Ice Hockey. Millbrook Resort is a luxury resort near Queenstown, New Zealand. It is located 4 kilometres to the west of the historic gold-mining town of Arrowtown. The resort covers two hundred hectares of the Wakatipu Basin - a glacial valley bordered by the Crown Range, the Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. The resort includes three restaurants, a bar/cafe, a spa and a 27-hole golf course (3 sets of 9 holes). Millbrook is privately owned by the Ishii family, though individual residences within the resort are owned by a diverse group of investors, largely from New Zealand but also from Australia and around the world. Millbrook's 18-hole golf course was originally designed by Sir Bob Charles has been significantly upgraded, with additions including a stunning new nine holes by former Pro Greg Turner and Scott McPherson of Turner/McPherson. The new Coronet Nine gives players the choice of playing any two of the three nines at one time. Millbrook opened a covered driving range on Labour Weekend 2009. Formerly a high-country woolshed, the layout of the driving range building is a very close copy of the interior of the original shed. The five catching pens and wool room are now the hitting bays, while the ‘board’ where the sheep were shorn is the access corridor. Two attached ‘huts’ have been added to house ball dispensing and washing operations, and a coaching clinic classroom for Millbrook’s new golf academy. The Spa at Millbrook has over 10 treatment rooms including a bespoke manicure/pedicure room, vichy shower, steam room, couples treatment rooms and a hair salon. Millbrooks restaurants are The Millhouse, The Hole-in-One Cafe & Bar and Kobe Cuisine Teppanyaki Restaurant.
