Ulu Tiram is a town in Johor Bahru District, Johor. The town lies along trunk road number three, named Tebrau Highway, at the junction which leads to Ulu Tiram. The trunk road leads on to Mersing in northeast Johor and Kuantan in Pahang. Ulu Tiram is easily accessible through the Tebrau Highway, Jalan Kota Tinggi trunk road, and the Senai-Desaru Expressway. Ulu Tiram is located approximately 18 km from Johor Bahru to the south and 20 km from Kota Tinggi to the north.

Taman Molek

Taman Molek is a main township in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. It was developed by Pelangi Berhad Group in the 1990s and is now a mini commercial hub with several major banks : Standard Chartered, HSBC, Al-Rajhi Bank, Kuwait Finance House, Royal Bank of Scotland, OCBC, UOB, RHB Bank, EON, Maybank, Hwang-DBS Investments. It is surrounded by Taman Johor Jaya, Taman Redang, Taman Desa Harmoni, Taman Saujana and is adjacent to two major golf courses, Ponderosa Golf and Country Resort and the Daiman 18 Golf and Country Resort. It is becoming increasingly popular as a commercial and residential area and with a direct link to Johor Bahru slated to open soon. It is also close to the Tebrau-Plentong corridor which is seeing tremendous growth and also a lot of high end developments such as waterfront and marina type projects along with hotels and more commercial areas set to come in future. A little known fact about Taman Molek is that for about half century it was the site of the main transmitting station of the BBC or British Broadcasting Corporation in the Far East - known locally as BBC Tebrau - before this was relocated to Singapore. In the old days the Masai Trunk Road was popularly known as the BBC Road.

Taman Johor Jaya is a satellite town situated in the northern outskirts of Johor Bahru, the second largest city of Malaysia. Johor Jaya consists of mainly residential zones, but it also has light industrial and commercial zones. Johor Jaya is administered by the Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru Tengah (MPJBT) (Central Johor Bahru Municipal Council) on the side north of the Pasir Gudang Highway and by Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru (MBJB) (Johor Bahru City Council) south of the highway (Rosmerah area).

Plentong

Plentong began as a Kangchu settlemement known as Tey Chu Kang in 1859 and then an old Chinese new village that is now a busy town in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. Many hypermarkets are found here like Giant and Tesco, along with several major boutiques and showrooms such as Beethoven,Toyota, Perodua, Proton, Mercedes Benz and Fella Design. Surrounded by Permas Jaya, Taman Johor Jaya, Bandar Seri Alam, Taman Ria and Bandar Tebrau, its main traffic junction (Jalan Masai Lama and Jalan Permas Utara) is heavily congested with traffic crawling up to 3 kilometres in each direction on some days. Plentong is the headquarters of the Malacca-Johor archdiocese, known as Majodi centre and also has a Catholic Saint Joseph Church. Other places of worship include several mosques, Hindu temples and Chinese clan temples. One of the largest granite quarries in Johor is located here near here. There is also a railway station on the Kempas-Pasir Gudang line which largely services cargo trains. Mukim Plentong which covers much of Johor Bahru town, Permas Jaya, Pasir Gudang etc. is the most populous Mukim in Johor and one of the most populous in Malaysia with over 500,000 residents. Anyway, the Plentong village always being flooded during rainy season because of very old and poor water drainage system. The government cooperate with KTM Berhad (Malaysian Train Service Company) to rebuild the KTM Plentong Bridge in order to facilitate the flow of the water of Sungai Plentong during rainy season . The whole project cost about 50 million and as of July 2009, the train bridge is in the early stage of construction . In future under the Iskandar masterplan it will be a major rail terminus with both electrified commuter rail between Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru and Kulai and LRT/Monorail between Pasir Gudang and Johor Bahru intersecting here. It is considered as one of the best areas of living hood among other housing areas in Malaysia.

Masai is a town located in east Johor Bahru District, Malaysia, and is the oldest part of Johor Bahru. It is located 25 kilometres from the Johor Bahru city centre. Masai is located on route J10 which leads to Kong Kong, a fishing village along Johor River. The main access roads to Masai are Jalan Masai Lama(J10) and Pasir Gudang Highway(Federal Route 17).
