Bey Hamam

Bey Hamam, alternatively known as the "Baths of Paradise", is a Turkish bathhouse located along Egnatia Street in Thessaloniki, east of Panagia Chalkeon. Built in 1444 by sultan Murad II, it was the first Ottoman bath in Thessaloniki and the most important one still standing throughout Greece. For this reason, it is a part of those few important vestiges of Ottoman culture remaining in Thessaloniki and Greece in general. It is a double bath, with two separate parts for men and women.

Karipeion Melathron

Karipeio Melathro is an Ottoman-period historical building in the center of Thessaloniki, Greece. It is located in the crossroad of Olympiados and F. Dragoumi streets. Its architect is the Italian Vitaliano Pozzeli. Karipio was the official residence of the then Selanik Prefect, who was the political representative of the Ottoman Empire in Macedonia. After Thessaloniki became part of Greece in 1912, the building became a property of the Greek State.

Battle of Thessalonica (380)

The Battle of Thessalonica was fought in the summer or autumn of 380 by Fritigern's Goths and a Roman army led by Theodosius I. Reconstituted after Adrianople, the Eastern Roman army suffered another major defeat. Theodosius retreated to Thessalonica and surrendered control of operations to the Western Emperor, Gratian.

Zeitenlik is an Allied military cemetery in Thessaloniki, Greece. It contains the graves mostly of the Serbian (more than 8000) but also of French, English and Russian soldiers who died in the battles on the Salonika front during World War I. The complex is located on the place where the Main Hospital of the Serbian Army was located during the war. The name comes from the Turkish word Zeytin which means Olive. Makedonikos Stadium

Thessaloniki–Svilengrad railway

The Thessaloniki–Svilengrad railway is an about 620 km long railway connecting Thessaloniki in Greece with Svilengrad in Bulgaria, via the cities Serres and Alexandroupoli. Thessaloniki–Bitola railway

The railway from Thessaloniki to Bitola is a 219-kilometre long railway line, that connects the port city Thessaloniki in Greece with Bitola in the Republic of Macedonia, via Veroia, Edessa, Amyntaio and Florina.
