Parliament of Western Australia
The Parliament of Western Australia is the legislature of the Australian state of Western Australia, forming the legislative branch of the Government of Western Australia. The parliament consists of an upper house, the Legislative Council, a lower house, the Legislative Assembly and the Queen, represented by the state Governor. Both houses sit at Parliament House, located in Perth, the state's capital.

Mount Eliza (Western Australia)
Mount Eliza is a hill which overlooks the city of Perth, Western Australia and forms part of Kings Park. It is known as Kaarta gar-up and Mooro Katta in the local Noongar dialect. It was named in 1827 by the eventual Governor James Stirling, after Eliza Darling who was the wife of New South Wales Governor Ralph Darling. In 1831, Western Australia's first Surveyor General, John Septimus Roe set aside the land around Mount Eliza for public purposes.
Solidarity Park
Solidarity Park is located opposite the Parliament House in Perth, Western Australia. In 1997 a 'Workers Embassy' was set up on some vacant land opposite the Parliament House during union protests of the Court Governments 'third wave' legislation for industrial relations. What began with a caravan and portable barbecue soon transformed into a landscaped shelter with a monument to the trade union workers who have died during their work.
Barracks Arch
The Barracks' Arch is located on the corner of Malcolm and Elder Streets, at the western end of St Georges Terrace in Perth, Western Australia. It effectively blocks a clear view from Parliament House down St George's Terrace.
Dumas House
Dumas House is a fourteen storey office building constructed in Perth, Western Australia during the 1960s. The building is located close to St Georges Terrace, Kings Park, and Parliament House. Dumas House was part of the 1955 plan to centralise all WA Government departments near Parliament House, based on the Stephenson-Hepburn Report. Several such plans had been proposed since the late 1920s, but post-World War II State finances and resources were unable to support the proposals.
City of Perth
The City of Perth is a local government area and body, within the Perth metropolitan area, which is the capital of Western Australia. The local government body is commonly known as Perth City Council. The city covers the Perth central business district and surrounding suburbs. The city covers an area of 12.7 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 17,955 as at June 2010.
Perth Modern School
Perth Modern School is an academically-selective co-educational public high school located in Subiaco, an inner city suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The school, established in 1911, caters for students with high academic ability. Perth Modern School has a specialised music programme for students in years eight to twelve. The school also offers a specialised ballet course through its Graduate College of Dance. Students of Perth Modern School are called "Perth Mods" or "Mods" for short.
Princess Margaret Hospital for Children
Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH) is a centre for paediatric research and care. The hospital is located on Roberts Road in Subiaco, Western Australia. It is the state's only specialist children's hospital. Together with the Child and Adolescent Community Health Division it makes up the Child and Adolescent Health Service. The hospital originated as the Perth Children's Hospital in 1909 after 12 years of community fundraising.
Edith Dircksey Cowan Memorial
The Edith Dircksey Cowan Memorial, formerly known as the Edith Cowan Memorial Clock, is a clock tower in Kings Park, Perth, Western Australia. It was built in 1934 as a memorial to Edith Cowan, the first female member of any Australian parliament. It is believed to be the first civic monument erected in Australia to honour an Australian woman.
Scitech
Scitech is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to increase awareness, interest, capability and participation by all Western Australians in science, technology, engineering and maths. Scitech generally aims its programs at children aged up to 12, but it does provide activities for children and adults of all ages, and since 2009 has been running regular "Scitech After Dark" evenings to allow over 18 year olds to enjoy its attractions in an adult-oriented atmosphere.
West Perth, Western Australia
West Perth is an inner suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. It is part of the inner mixed zone, and has predominantly office blocks which have displaced residential buildings. There is a high proportion of miners and consultants, and particularly medical specialists, compared to the Perth CBD. Most retail outlets are focused on serving the office population, and so are closed on weekends.
Perth Arena
Perth Arena is an entertainment and sporting arena in the city centre of Perth, Western Australia. It is located on Wellington Street, near the site of the former Perth Entertainment Centre, and was officially opened on 10 November 2012. The Perth Arena is the first stage of the Perth City Link, a 13.5 hectare major urban renewal and redevelopment project which involves the sinking of the Fremantle railway line to link the Perth central business district directly with Northbridge.
Carillon City
Carillon City is a major shopping centre, located in Perth, Western Australia. It is located in the middle of the Perth main retail precinct between the Hay and Murray Street malls. It is linked to St Georges Terrace by way of access through Trinity Arcade and an arcade under the Hay Street Mall. Walkways and a pedestrian overpass connect the Cultural Precinct, public carparks, the rail and bus terminal with Carillon City.
Mueller Park
Mueller Park is a park in Subiaco, Western Australia, situated between Perth Modern School and Subiaco Oval. It originally comprised the land area which included Subiaco Oval and in the early 1900s housed tennis, croquet, bowls, cricket and football clubs. The park is named after German botanist Ferdinand von Mueller who described several hundred species of Australian flora and who participated in and promoted the exploration of Australia in the mid-nineteenth century.
Harold Boas
Harold Boas (27 September 1883 in Adelaide – 17 September 1980 at Subiaco, Western Australia) was a town planner and architect in Western Australia. Boas designed many public buildings in and around Perth and was an influential Jewish community leader.
The Cloisters, Perth
The Cloisters is located at 200 St Georges Terrace, opposite its intersection with Mill Street, in Perth, Western Australia. It is a two-storey dark coloured brick building, which terminates the vista at the top of Mill Street and is a landmark in the rise of the street to the ridge of the plateau. The Cloisters is one of a small number of remaining convict-built colonial buildings of the mid-nineteenth century in the central area of Perth.

Emu Brewery
The Emu Brewery was a brewery in Perth, Western Australia, which traced its history to the first decade of the colony. Founded in 1837 by James Stokes as the Albion Brewery, it was located beside the Swan River on a block bounded by Mounts Bay Road, Spring Street and Mount Street. The business changed hands — and names — several times, until its ultimate acquisition by competitor the Swan Brewery in 1927. New brewery buildings were constructed over the years.
Perth (suburb)
Perth is a locality in Western Australia which includes both the central business district of the Perth metropolitan region, and a suburban area spreading north to the northern side of Hyde Park. It does not include the separate suburbs of Northbridge or Highgate. Perth is split between the City of Perth and the City of Vincent local authorities. Perth was named after Perthshire in Scotland.
Royal King's Park Tennis Club
Royal King's Park Tennis Club, founded in 1899, is located in Kings Park, Western Australia. It was originally called the Mount Tennis Club and included two asphalt courts. Later, lawn tennis, bowls and croquet facilities were added. The members' pavilion was built in 1926 and the McGibbon stand built in 1935. A new building opened in 2007 and includes social facilities as well as a gymnasium, squash courts and swimming pools.
Trinity Theological College, Perth
Trinity Theological College is located in Leederville, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It is an independent evangelical Christian college which exists in order to "Prepare people for effective Christian service". Its students come from a diverse range of denominations and church affiliations. The courses at Trinity are provided through the Australian College of Theology.
