Bridgeman Downs is a suburb located approximately 12 kilometres north-west of Brisbane CBD. In November 1860 Henry St John Bridgeman bought land bounded by Albany Creek Road, Bridgeman Road and Beams Road. Bridgeman Downs has long been associated with large acreage properties, but these are mostly restricted to the end of Beckett Road and down Bridgeman Road. The majority of Bridgeman Downs, surrounded by Aspley, Albany Creek, McDowall and Carseldine is residential estate, established in the late eighties and early nineties. The resident population is relatively young, however there is a retirement village and a cemetery. Bridgeman Downs includes three large-scale Christian churches; the Bridgeman Baptist Community Church, the Bridgeman Downs Christian Outreach Centre and the C3 Church, while a local community Anglican church exists next to the retirement village on Ridley Road. The area was mostly developed in the 1990s, which can be seen as the majority of houses in the residential estates are quite modern. Many families choose to live in Bridgeman Downs because of the larger homes and generous blocks (plenty big enough for a pool) and proximity to shops such as Pick n Pay Hypermarket at Aspley and various public and private schools.

Bald Hills is the northernmost suburb of the Brisbane City Council in Queensland, Australia. Bald Hills is a largely residential suburb. It is mostly surrounded by bushland, but in the last few years some of the bush areas have been cleared to make way for new residential areas. It also borders onto the Bald Hills Flats – a large flood plain on the western side of the suburb that is used for cattle grazing. The South Pine River flows through the flood plain and forms the western border of the suburb. The South Pine River converges with the North Pine River and the combined flow, Pine River, forms the northern border. Along the banks of Pine River within Bald Hills is a large environmental park called the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve. The Pine River empties into Bramble Bay, between Redcliffe and Brighton. The most prominent structure is the Bald Hills Radiator, the ABC's 198 metre tall AM radio transmission tower located on the eastern side of the suburb. Bald Hills is the home of the Bald Hills-Lawnton Lions Cricket Club. It is also home to the breeding and training centre for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association of Queensland. There are two schools in the suburb. Bald Hills State School is a state primary school that was formed in 1866. The other school is St Paul's School, an Anglican co-educational private school from Prep to Year 12.

It is anchored by Big W and Target discount department stores, Woolworths supermarket, Coles supermarket and ALDI Food Store. Myer Closure and Centre Modification After the closure of the Myer Department Store at Strathpine on Saturday March 3, 2007, the section of centre where Myer was located was closed off to allow for a redesign. The new "mall" of Westfield Strathpine features a Target variety store, JB Hi-Fi and many other retail stores.
